Kwik Support: Google Chrome Fails to Load Pages

Chrome on Many Devices

This apparently does not happen very often: Google Chrome just won’t load or render a page. If you type a search term in the address bar, you will see the Google search guesses. However, the page will flat-out refuse to load.

This happened to me on my desktop at work, but nowhere else. I installed, re-installed, tweaked Windows Registry settings all to no avail. Very frustrating. Some time later, I learned about Chrome’s Flags page and found the solution.

  1. Type chrome://flags into Chrome’s address bar and press the Enter key.
  2. Find GPU Compositing on All Pages  and disable the feature.
  3. Click the Relaunch Now button at the bottom of the page.

If this does not resolve the issue, return to the Flags page, disable Threaded Compositing,  and click Relaunch Now.

Good luck!
